Icons on Display at All Saints Episcopal Church

JaneTan Creti is a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church congregation and a very talented iconographer. She has written many icons which are on display in the All Saints Episcopal Church in Omana, NE. Jane has completed a major project that is now displayed over the main doors of the narthex. It includes the main icon of the Three Angles plus seven saints surrounding it..

Iconography, as a branch of art history, studies the identification, description and interpretation of the content of images: the subjects depicted, the particular compositions and details used to do so, and other elements that are distinct from artistic style. The word iconography comes from the Greek εἰκών ("image") and γράφειν ("to write" or to draw).

Included in this display is the lower tier Macrina of Cappadocia, Gregory of Nyssa; middle tier: Andrei Rublev, Serigus of Radonich; upper tier: Fredrick Denison Maurice, Evelyn Underhill.
