This summer, rather than meeting every day, we’ll pack 200 lunches on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. On Tuesdays, we’ll deliver the food to families with the help of our partner church New Life Presbyterian, in its neighborhood around 40th and Pratt. Last year your generosity and efforts provided 5,000 lunches! This year, we want to do even more to feed body, mind, and soul. On Thursdays, half of the lunches will be delivered to a feeding project at 24th and Emmet created by Mother Karen’s grandson Alex. For the other half, we will set up canopies at the community garden at 41st and Bedford (pictured at left), and, with help from our New Life partners, distribute the lunches, books, crayons, etc., and read some stories, building relationships with the kids.
If you are not able to volunteer but would like to help financially, here are some suggested donations. (Of course, any amount helps!)
