Kiva Micro-Loans

More than 1.7 billion people around the world are unbanked and can’t access the financial services they need. Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 in San Francisco, with a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive. We do this by crowdfunding loans and unlocking capital for the underserved, improving the quality and cost of financial services, and addressing the underlying barriers to financial access around the world. Through Kiva's work, students can pay for tuition, women can start businesses, farmers are able to invest in equipment and families can afford needed emergency care.

How Kiva Works

The All Call Omaha Kiva portfolio was created at the farewell party of interim Trinity Cathedral Dean Joan Pritcher in 2013.

Over time, this portfolio has received a total of $1714 in small donations.

These donations are loaned out to Kiva recipients that are selected based on a large number of categories (e.g. housing, education, businesses run by women, farming, geographical location...)

As these loans are paid back, the money returns to the portfolio and can be are re-loaned.

As of 4/20/2020, this has allowed a total of $8,300 to be lent and
re-lent!
