God created the world and called it good--and we are called by God to be stewards of creation, to tend and nurture it. We believe that all creation is interconnected and that grace is present in all of God’s creation, and so we commit to take an active and holistic approach to environmental stewardship through education, service, and sustainable practices. Through our community garden, our many flower/pollinator gardens, our outdoor Stations of the Cross, our Labyrinth, our Youth Group service projects, and other education and service opportunities, we seek to provide practical resources and meaningful ways to enhance our connection to God’s Creation at church, at home and in our workplaces. To join the Lay Weeders in helping to maintain our gardens, call the church office at 402-393-8612 or contact us HERE.
God, you make the dawn and the dusk to sing for joy. You visit the earth and water it abundantly; you make it very plenteous; the river of God is full of water. You prepare the grain, for so you provide for the earth. You drench the furrows and smooth out the ridges; with heavy rain you soften the ground and bless its increase. You crown the year with your goodness, and your paths overflow with plenty. May the fields of the wilderness be rich for grazing, and the hills be clothed with joy. May the meadows cover themselves with flocks, and the valleys cloak themselves with grain; let them shout for joy and sing! (Psalm 65:8b-14)
