Vacation Bible School 2024 starts July 8 and ends on July 10!
Each year the Sunday School classes practice and present a Christmas Pageant. Everyone has a chance to participate, and parents, family, and friends can sing along too. The 2023 pageant was "An Old Fashioned Social Media Christmas," telling the familiar story through Bible readings, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google Maps!
At the end of each summer, students, teachers, para-professionals, and anyone who helps educate and care for youth gather at the altar for a special blessing as we invoke God's care and the Holy Spirit's guidance for the year ahead.
Youth are involved in all aspects of our worship every Sunday of the year, but one Sunday in May they fill all of the roles possible. One of the graduating seniors is selected to deliver the sermon.2024 Youth Sunday was May12th.
Each year the Youth Group takes a summer mission trip that incorporates Creation Care, Service Project, Worship, and Fun. In 2019 the youth group restored three parks in Verdigre, Nebraska that had been destroyed by flooding, and painted St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Bassett. They walked the Cowboy Trail, saw the fossils as Ashfall State Historical Park, and had a few water balloon fights, too.
For our celebration of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, we gather on the church lawn with our furry, feathered, and scaly family members for an special blessing encouraging our stewardship of all creation and giving thanksgiving for the love and joy we find in creation, especially in our pets.
